I'd always wanted to do it and now was the right time to
do it; drive my Cadillac Brougham in winter at the New Year's Eve! Because
of the snow and the salt on our roads I usually don't drive my Brougham during
winters, but I've always wanted to do it and now the weather was just right
- not too much snow and so cold that there were absolutely no salt on the
roads so I did not have to wash the car when I returned it to the garage.
The most annoying job to do was to replace the summer tires with the winter
ones in cold dark garage with no other lights than the halogens of my dad's
car on the front of the grarage. Those winter tires which came with the car
when I bought it, are really impressive. They are some kind of studded all-terrain/off-road
tires with broad wide white walls. In addition to the tires, the car does
have another set of hub caps. They are not the wire wheel ones that the summer
tires have, but the plain standard ones. Much more suitable for winter driving
than the wire wheel discs.
Me and my friends found that the Brougham is excellent winter car, atleat
for the occassional use. There were plenty of heat and the drive was so comfort
than always. Very nice experience and I might want to enjoy it later again.
By the way, we had the only Cadillac in town, there were absolutely no other
ones!
