JUNKERS JU 52 Gaednogaissa, Levajok, Norway

 4./KGr.z.b.V 108  7U+LM  WNr:  6032  24th February 1943

24th February 1943 the plane took off from Kemi airfield 10.09 o´clock heading to Banak. Weather was good. Flight altitude was first 600 meters then 900 meters above the ground. It was good weather, visibility 10 - 20 kilometers untill border of Finland and Norway.

10.40 o´clock Ju-52 radiocontacted to Banak and  got latest weather reports. Suddenly plane flew into a snowstorm, visibility at most 1 kilometer. Pilot started to climb higher in the safe altitude. There was now no visibility at all. Pilot had to trust flight instruments. Then plane got into lowering airstream losing altitude. Pilot pulled the control stick towards to him and then the planes landing gear hit the ground and the plane turned 180 degrees. So nose of the plane shows direction back to Kemi.

FF Uffz. Hans Strasser wounded only slightly, BF Fw. Alfred Brüning and  BM Fw. Ernst Bayer wounded badly, BS Uffz. Mohr Ernst, passengers Hptm. Rüstemeyer, Fl.OIng. Steinle, Uffz. Drössler, Ogfr. Haase wounded slightly and mechanic Kunze badlly.

The plane has hit the ground covered with snow and turned 180 degrees. The cockpit section has crashed badly and the fuselage has suffered damages. It was very good wreck until norwegian airforce in 1987 started to move parts of the plane to museum of Gardermoen. First they took  the rudder. Then other parts started to be needed. In 1992 when I visited the plane, she was missing cockpit, engines, rudder, all minor parts, armament and the starboard wing was loosened and it was lying about 100 meters away.
Friend of mine visited the plane in 1995 and the wing has disappeared and the tail section was broken.
In the Year 2001 the wreck still exists in the site.

Kone oli lennolla Kemistä Banakiin lentokorkeuden ollessa n.1000 m luokkaa. Joutuessaan sankkaan lumipyryyn kone osui Gaednogaisan tasanteeseen, jolloin kone pyörähti 180 astetta tulosuuntaan säilyen aikalailla hyvässä kunnossa tapahtumaan nähden.
Henkilöstö Uffz. Hans Strasser FF loukkaantui lievästi. Fw. Alfred Brüning BF loukkaantui pahemmin. Kuten myös Fw. Ernst Bayer BM loukkaantui pahoin.
Uffz. Mohr BS loukkaantui lievästi. Matkustajat Hptm. Rüstemeyer, Fl.O.Ing. Steinle, Uffz. Drössler, Ogfr. Haase loukkaantuivat lievästi.
Asentaja Kunze loukkaantui pahemmin.
Toinen siipi irroitettu siististi kiinnikkeistään, siiven ollessa koneesta etu vasemmalla. Siivessä oli nostosakkelit valmiina poisvientiä varten.1995 irroitettu siipi viety pois museoon ja peräosaa rikottu/irroitettu.
2001 kone edelleen paikalla joskin lisää osiaan menettäneenä.
