MENTALITY TEST Nando
has been mentality tested (MH for young dogs) by Swedish mentality judge Mrs
Barbro Börjesson whom specialices in testing Ridgebacks. Nando was tested at the
age of 13 months in summer 2004.
TEST DESCRIPTION:
1a. Contact - greeting / kontakti - tervehtiminen
Take contact on own initiative or aloud contact. Balanced. / Ottaa kontaktin
oma-aloitteisesti tai sallii kontaktin. Tasapainoinen.
1b. Contact - co-operating / kontakti - yhteistyö
Follow willingly. Interested. / Seuraa halukkaasti. Kiinnostunut.
1c. Contact - handling / kontakti - käsittely
Avoid, move further away. Take contact randomly. / Väistää, siirtyy kauemmas.
Ottaa kontaktin satunnaisesti.
2a. Play 1 - desire to play / leikki 1 - halua

Play active, start playing fast. / Leikkii aktiivisesti, aloittaa nopeasti.
2b. Play 1 - grabbing / leikki 1 - tarttuminen
Grab straight away with the whole mouth. / Tarttuu suoraan, koko suullaan.

Bite, pull over, drag around, seize on the toy. / Puree, vetää vastaan,

Start with great speed, straight towards the lure, braking when reach the

Show a lot of fear or the increasing fear during or after the passing. /
Osoittaa paljon tai kasvavaa pelkoa ohitusten aikana tai niiden jälkeen.

8a. A spook - threat, aggression / kummitus - uhka,

Show several signs of threatening behavior during a long period. / Osoittaa
useita uhkauksia, pitkäkestoisia.
8b. A spook - control / kummitus - kontrolli
Control the spooks, a long break. / Kontrolloi kummituksia, pitkä keskeytys
välillä (=meni yleisön joukkoon, ei katsonut kummituksia).
8c. A spook - fear / kummitus - pelko
Run away over the distance of a leash, rely on the crowd or leave the place. /
Pakenee yli hihnan mitan, ottaa tukea yleisöstä tai jättää paikan.
8d. A spook - curiosity / kummitus - uteliaisuus
Go to the object when the owner talks to it - fasten the dog. / Menee lähemmäs,
kun ohjaaja puhuu kohteelle - koira kytketään.
8e. A spook - contact / kummitus - kontakti
The object gets a feedback from the dog when ask for contact. / Vastaa
kontaktiin, kun kohde pyytää sitä.
9a. Play 2 - desire to play / leikki 2 - halu leikkiä
Play active, start playing fast. / Leikkii aktiivisesti, aloittaa nopeasti.
9b. Play 2 - grabbing / leikki 2 - tarttuminen

10. Reactions to shots / laukausvarmuus
Control which disappear after the first shot, a short interrupt, start the
activity again. / Reagoi laukaukseen, reaktio katoaa 1. laukauksen jälkeen,
lyhyt keskeytys, jatkaa aktiviteettiä.
