11th prize: Cardboard Gundam A cosplay project which shows that even with a shoestring budget one can follow the golden principle "simple is beautiful". Right. |

10th prize: Carrot The Parrot Weird, but shows a thoughtful design. Enough said. |

9th prize: I capture you! Pikachu! A scary combination in a scary pose. Poor Pikachu has been finally enslaved by the infamous Rocket Group. However, idea is almost unoriginal, the other Rocketeer is inexplicably missing, and the sturdy chain gives an unnecessary S&M impression, which doesn't belong to Pokemon after all, never mind how many people actually see here their ultimate wish finally fulfilled. |

8th prize: Red-Eyed Rei Another Neon Genesis Evangelion cosplay. This time with a slight improvement. The camera flash creates an essential part of Rei Ayanami impression: red eyes. However, a well designed costume doesn't grant a better position in this ranking, because the essential impression has been created by a photographic trick. What about red contact lenses next time? |

7th prize: Nabeshin meets Iron Chef Our invincible hero, Nabeshin, has travelled around the world across many continents and finally he meets the infamous Iron Chef. What's dinner tonight? Roasted Menchi? |

6th prize: Jitensha ZZZ Gundam Beware, evil Zion empire! A brand new newtype, battle unit Jitensha Gundam arrives! This is a fascinating picture. Only one thing needs improvement. Now, imagine if you will, what about Gundam riding a tricycle? |

5th prize: Anemic Eva Group Here is the crew of Neon Genesis Evangelion in a group pose. The lackluster impression of anemic and willingless Shinji (far left) is especially worth of attention. The rug of a man we see here is indeed Shinji Ikari embodied. Asuka's desperate attempt to play a cheerful and strong young woman is also very well illustrated. |

4th prize: Sumo Chibiusa A charity sumo wrestling exhibition in Japan in 1999 dramatised a Sailor Moon story with the sumo wrestlers dressed in an appropriate way. The magic battles obviously turned out to be sumo. The great idea for a good purpose didn't lack originality. A pure hearted enthusiasm for the cause attracted a large audience and the show was televised. However, something in this pattern didn't quite fit into the concept. You can be the ultimate judge. |

3rd prize: Vespa Mom A most suitable biking costume with appropriate safety measures. A vinyl material keeps dry even under heavy rain. However, the costume lacks some artistic merit. For example, the helmet could have been pink as well. The blue gloves give an eyesore, but on the other hand the christmas tree decorations provide some balance. All in all a sort of cutesy impression with some room for improvement. |

2nd prize: Toto Man A rare sight on horse racing track. This gentleman has a serious attitude. However, his otherwise balanced performance lacks some attention to the most critical point of all: The shoes!! With a dress like this only high-heel red boots would do. Old dirty sneakers might be a very good choice, taken attention to the current environment, but it cannot be forgiven that the almost complete artistic impression is ruined by this unfortunate choice of footwear. A very good attempt with one major fault. |

1st prize: Sailor Bubba This one is perfect. This artist has taken careful and devoted attention to the minute detail. Costume is probably tailor-made for the occasion, but it doesn't diminish the awesome and stunning impression. This phenomena was seen in a public audition at US Central Animecon in 2002 and it wasn't repeated, which is a pity. |
