This is the model of the temple of Solomon, which I bought from St. Petersburg (Russia). My wife and kids assembled this model.

The temple of Solomon was built on the mount of Moria. The temple was about 147 feet long, and about 52 feet wide, and about 36 feet high.

The height of the pillars of the temple was about 39 feet. The pillars were named by Boaz and Jachin. Jachin means; He (God) will establish.

The temple was made from stone, which came ready from the quarry, so that the sound of hammer and any tool of iron was not heard, when building the temple. The walls of the temple were covered with beams and boards of cedar. The floor was panelled with fir tree.

The temple of Solomon and the most holy was the place where the Lord, God of Israel lived.

 

On the left is the Bronze Sea, which was held up by twelve oxen. The Bronze Sea held about 109.000 litres of water. In the Bronze Sea priests washed their feet and hands. The Bronze Sea was about 14 feet high.

On the right side is the altar of burnt offering, which was made from bronze, in which offerings were burnt for the sake of the sins of Israel.

In the picture, ten small bronze basins can be seen which were situated on both sides of the temple. The offerings were rinsed in these small bronze basins.

 

The temple had three floors and an upper room.

 

The walls of the temple were surrounded by side chambers, which functioned as the storage space for foods and the vessels of the temple. The servants of the temple, who were the priests, lived there too.

 

The two most important parts of the temple were the Holy and the Most Holy. In the Holy were ten golden candlesticks, which were on the right and left side of the wall. In the Holy were also ten shewbread tables and the altar of incense.

Behind the Holy, was the Most Holy. On the Most Holy were two cherubs, which were made from the olive tree and they were covered with gold and there was also the ark of the covenant. The wings of the cherubs touched each other and extended from wall to wall. The walls of the Holy and the Most Holy were engraved with cherubim and palm trees and open flowers. Between the Holy and the Most Holy was the Veil, and before it, the blood of the sin offering was sprinkled. The High Priest (hebrew; HaKohen HaGadol) went in to the Most Holy only once a year to reconcile the sins of the nation of Israel.
